As a "gypsy artist", I followed the national shows and exhibits for about 45 years, after gaining professional status in high school with the sale of my first painting.  Self taught, I worked in most mediums and settled with oils.  Subject matter was wildlife, portraits and Native Peoples.  I have taught workshops, children's summer classes at Ponca City OK and adult classes at Vo Tech in Fairview OK.

The Creation Process:

My People are carved by hand using small razor-sharp knives.  The design is burned into the wood after a light sanding to leave knife marks visible.  Painting is done with great care and attention to individual tribal design and color before final varnish. Embellishment is added and accessories made from natural elements. Research is constantly ongoing.

Some of my works can be found in: Oklahoma Heritage Hall of Fame, Marland Mansion Museum, Marland Grand Home (Ponca City OK) and exhibited in various galleries and museums across the country.

My People dolls are sold and collected internationally and part of the permanent collection of Standing Bear Indian Museum (Ponca City OK).

I am a member of the local (BAA) art association .

I am a member of the UFDC (United Federation of Doll Clubs).

I am a juried member of ODACA (Original Doll Artist Council of America).

My People have taken up residence in many countries around the world.

To date, there are over 750 one of a kind My People wooden dolls.
